Today was a wonderful Sabbath. We were all split between 3 wards, but good reports have come from everyone with whom I’ve spoken. Singers presented a special musical number during the Sacrament Meeting of each ward, and probably in just about every other meeting of the day as well if past experience is any indicator. It is always a highlight of the tour to meet with the LDS members, and feel their strength no matter what their country. It is also a great reminder of how diverse the Church membership is.
During the afternoon, some napped, all were fed, some saw a little bit of Liverpool, some visited with and enjoyed their host families. Here are a couple of photos, but these are not really representative of the area since we mostly saw the stake centre today.
Our fireside tonight was the last of tour. Our speakers were very good, and the music beautiful. (Would I say anything else, now really? But it truly was.) The chapel was just about full, and it was easy to see from the reactions and conversations afterward that the congregation loved it.

While I watch the photos and read the blog I play back in my head the music from the farewell concert and try to recreate your experiences. Sadly, I can only imagine, but it is a great imagining. Thank you so much for sharing.
A “ROYAL ARMY OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER’S CHILDREN.”
They have given their all for all these weeks and I’m sure those they have served have had their spirits lifted to a much higher level of love for the finer feelings within them.
Sandefur, my dear, my love for you and your service for a higher cause. Please extend my love to my son and his wonderful Jan.
May the Lord bless you and bring all of you home safely.
Sister Staheli, thank you so much! This has been a wonderful tour, and we have loved being here. We hope we have uplifted our audiences and host families as much as they have uplifted us.
A weekend I will always remember. Much love to you all. -TG
What a wonderful experience for each of you. Hey Nate, I didn’t expect to see you singing with the group, but as always, it’s good to see someone I know. This has got to be good for church members to feel of your spirit, and like always, the competitions and concerts a good missionary tool. Your time is coming to an end, and it will be good to have you all home safely.
Continue to enjoy.
Both performances we attended at Ormskirk and Liverpool were stunning. Sensitively performed, the most beautiful, imaginative arrangements and chords, expressive singing and the faces of the choir members conveyed their feelings and love of music.
I have never heard nor ever expect to hear in this life, such beautiful singing – they were the creme de la creme.
Dr Staheli really ‘played’ the choir and what a fine instrument they were. We loved every minute – I’m still singing ‘The Lark in the Clear Air’
We really enjoyed getting to know a bit about the choir members on Sunday and the brilliant talks were fresh and uplifting – I know that the prospective member I brought was touched by the testimonies.
I will always remember this weekend.
